“ Exploring and revisiting ideas that have interested, frightened, and intrigued me since I was a child, in my work I try to relate the impalpable grandeur of imagination. Painting on multiple formed layers of resin and acrylic paint, allows me to create true 3D compositions that I feel best express how I visualize mentally. The surreal manipulation of images of nature, humanity, and the universe at large represent the interconnectedness of life as well as the visual and metaphysical associations of memories and beliefs. At the center of my work lies a drive to encourage connection between individuals as well as a contemporary aesthetic that challenges the boundaries between the physical and ethereal.’
About The Artist
Landon Carter (born 1997 - Charleston, SC) is an emerging contemporary surrealist known for his innovative use of resin layering techniques to create 3D paintings that blur the line between painting and sculpture. A self-taught artist, Landon explores the interconnectedness of life, grief, and personal expression by transforming everyday moments into extraordinary, multi-dimensional experiences. His work offers a sense of romantic escapism, inviting viewers to engage with both the depth of the medium and the themes of nature and humanity. Landon has exhibited throughout the eastern United States and the UK and is currently working out of his studio in Brooklyn, NY, while also expanding his practice into nonprofit work aimed at using art to help others process grief.
